  • Korean descent or familial/legal ties to a native Korean
  • Open to all regardless of status, gender, or place of residence
  • Agrees and understands the principle of mutual aid upheld by this association
  • Committed and willing to carry out their responsibilities as a member diligently

Payment Method for Mutual Aid Benefits

The mutual aid benefit (funeral assistance payment) is  $15,000 (2026년 현재)입니다.

An administrative fee (for postage, etc) of 6% of the total amount will be deducted.
Any outstanding unpaid fees will also be deducted.

From the date of enrollment:
Less than 1 year: No mutual aid
1 year or more but less than 2 years: 50% of mutual aid
2 years or more but less than 3 years: 70% of mutual aid
More than 3 years: $15,000(100%) of mutual aid

Procedure to Receive Mutual Aid Benefits

In the event of a member's death, the mutual aid benefit will be paid to the primary beneficiary designated at the time of enrollment. The primary beneficiary may apply for the mutual aid benefit by submitting the original death certificate. (The beneficiary can only be designated or changed by the member themselves.)

Primary Beneficiary -
Resident of NJ, NY, or PA

① Please notify us of the date of death by phone prior to your visit.

② The primary beneficiary should bring the original death certificate and visit the office in person.

③ The primary beneficiary will be asked to sign the mutual aid benefit confirmation form.
(This form specifies the amount of the benefit to be received.)

④ After signing, the agreed mutual aid benefit amount will be issued by check.

Primary Beneficiary -
Residents in Other States

① Please notify us of the date of death by phone.

② The primary beneficiary should send the original death certificate along with a copy of their ID to the office by mail.

③ We, NJKAMAA, will send a mutual aid benefit receipt confirmation form.
(This form specifies the amount of the benefit to be received.)

④ After signing the confirmation form, please return it to us by mail.

⑤ Once the signed confirmation form is received, the agreed mutual aid benefit amount will be issued by check and sent to you via Priority Mail.

The original death certificate will be securely kept at the office.
